Jenny!

I'm Jenny, the Lead and the youngest at heart, in the quartet. I have been a member of Sweet Adelines since 1984 when I joined the Neapolitan Chorus in Naples, Florida. I spent some time as a member of Spirit of the Gulf chorus in Fort Myers, Florida before transferring to the Gainesville Harmony Show Chorus in 1988.

Chanda, my marvelous Tenor, and I have been singing together in a quartet since 1988. In our first regional competition in 1989 we won top novice quartet. We did have help from two other people, I guess that is why they call it a quartet. Barbershop is a huge part of my life and it would not be as much fun if I did not sing with three of my best friends.

My musical background includes playing percussion and singing in many different choruses. I played percussion in the Concert Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Church Band and Marching Band from the third grade through high school. I sang in high school choruses in Dubuque, Iowa, where I grew up, and in Naples, Florida. I had the honor of being the Senior soloist at my high school graduation. After high school I played with the Naples Community Band until I moved to Gainesville, Florida. Along with singing with my quartet and the chorus I am a member of the Sounds of Hope, with my Bass Beckie, at Covenant Church.

I work for a very diverse company, Theironics, LLC, as a coder and anything else they ask me to do. I am not married but I have a room mate and two babies, Grace and Buddy (my cats). I have pictures on my phone if you ask me I will be glad to show you. I love to play golf and have for as long as I can remember. I also love to watch college football, especially the University of Florida Gators.

Beckie!

I'm Beckie, the Bass - and not the youngest or oldest member - of the quartet. I have been a member of Sweet Adelines since 1991 when I joined the Gainesville Chorus - now know as the Gainesville Harmony Show Chorus. I have a musical background - played cello through high school, sang in school choruses, church choirs and taught piano to preschoolers - but this was my first experience with barbershop. I was hooked from the first night. I started out as a Bass, much to my Mom's surprise and think it's the best part!

I joined Chanda and Jenny in a quartet in April of 1992, and we've been together ever since. As you can see this is a big part of my life. Barbershop is my favorite "hobby". I am one of the lucky ones because I'm singing with three terrific ladies that are like sisters to me.

I am an Air Force 'brat' and was born in Alaska, and have lived in Louisiana, Japan, Texas and California before settling to Florida. I moved to Gainesville in 1971 to attend the University of Florida, fell in love with the area and never left. I am marries to Cliff, a fantastic husband who has always supported and encouraged me. We have a wonderful son and daughter-in-law and three terrific grandsons.

I am an Associate University Registrar at the University of Florida by day and a barbershopper by night. I also sing in the Covenant Church choir, Sounds of Hope, a true blessing of friends, faith and fellowship. When not singing, I enjoy collecting Noah's Arks, Angels and Bells and reading mysteries and historical fiction.

Diane!

I'm Diane, the Baritone - NOT the youngest member of the quartet. I have been a member of Sweet Adelines since 1974. I am the only charter member left in the original Gainesville Chorus - now know as the Gainesville Harmony Show Chorus. I am a second generation barbershopper, both my mother and father sang in choruses and/or quartets, as well as my aunt. I started out as a Baritone and then switch to Lead so I could be in a quartet. When I was given the opportunity to sing in a quartet with my daughter (who happens to be my best friend) I jumped at the chance. So now I am singing the part that God wanted me to sing. My daughter and I now co-direct this fabulous chorus that is such a huge part of my life.

Barbershop is my favorite "hobby". But I also enjoy reading a good mystery or traveling with my husband. I like a really good, rare steak and I love caramel ice cream. Actually, truth be known, I love anything that has caramel in it. I am unique in that I do NOT like chocolate. But I will eat chocolate to get to caramel.

I am NOT a native Floridian. I was born and raised in Lynn, Indiana. I'm sure that was an error, as I can't stand being cold. Anything less than 70 degrees and I turn into an ice cube. I am married to a wonderful man, Wally. We have two wonderful kids (Chanda and Micheal) and one dog (Lily). I am one of the lucky few who are RETIRED. I am sooooo busy now I don't know how I found time to fit work into my busy schedule. In fact, I need to stop talking about myself and go work on some music.

Chanda!

I'm Chanda, the Tenor - and youngest member of the quartet. I have been a member of Sweet Adelines since 1982. When I turned 14, I became a member of the Gainesville Chorus - now known as the Gainesville Harmony Show Chorus. I came from a family of barbershoppers. When I joined, I was blessed to be a third generation Sweet Adeline - my Grandmother and Mother were also members of the chorus. I started out as a Lead and later found my true calling as a Tenor. In fact, I'm thrilled that I now sing the same part that my Grandfather sang so wonderfully for many years! My Mother and I now co-direct this fabulous chorus that has been a huge part of my life.

Barbershop is my favorite "hobby". I am fortunate that I have the opportunity to sing in this quartet with three of my best friends! The Baritone is also my Mother.

I am a native Floridian, born and raised in Gainesville. I am married to a wonderful and very supportive husband, Steve. We have four wonderful kids (2 cats and 2 dogs). I work as an Account Clerk with the City of Gainesville. When I'm not singing I enjoy...well, that's pretty much all I enjoy. I do enjoy a good book now and then.
